The Speak with Dead spellallows the Necromancerand Cleric classes to speak with the dead, but other classes will need certain spell scrolls or items to make this possible. That being said, let’s take a look at the different ways to get the Speak with Dead spell:

Players can cast the Speak with Dead spell on a dead person to bring them to life. Once alive, the dead will answer five questions before they die again.After casting the spell, players must head to camp for a Long Rest before using it again.

Players cannot cast the Speak with Dead spell on every NPC, such as skeletons or NPCs that are damaged beyond repair. Additionally, some corpses may refuse to talk to the player.
