Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Yellowjackets season 3, episode 10!Yellowjacketsstars Tawny Cypress and Christina Ricci have addressed how many more seasons the show will have after the season 3 finale’s major events.Yellowjacketsseason 3 endedwith some major events transpiring, the biggest of which was Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) in the past timeline using a fixed radio to successfully contact the outside world. In the present day, a massive schism has happened between Shauna (Melaine Lynskey) and the rest of the group after Van (Lauren Ambrose) died. This has led to a team-up between Taissa (Cypress) and Misty (Ricci) to do something about her.
Speaking withThe Hollywood Reporter, Cypress and Ricci addressed how much longerYellowjacketshas left before the show ends. While the pair joked about wanting to portray their characters in movies, Cypress said that she believesYellowjacketsneeds more than one season to wrap up. This aligns with previous statements from showrunners Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson about having a plan through season 5 for the series. Check out what Cypress ad Ricci had to say below:
Christina Ricci:I would like it to go on forever. That would be great!
Tawny Cypress:I would love that, too. And then movies. Let’s just ride this pony until it drops dead!
I do think that it has five seasons worth of story. I do not think we can wrap it up in one more season, honestly. But who knows; it’s not our job.
What Ricci and Cypress' Statements Mean For Yellowjackets' Future
Season 4 Might Not Be The End
WhileYellowjacketsseason 4hasn’t been officially renewed yet, the show was always planned to have an arc that would last through season 5.This is despite the recent events seemingly bringing the story to a head, with conflict in both the past and present now centered around Shauna. Luckily, the show still has plenty of mysteries left to explore, such as the potential supernatural elements involved, alongside what Taissa and Misty are going to do now that they’ve decided to team up.
Since the series could still have at least two more seasons before it comes to a conclusion, it remains to be seen what this means for the upcoming episodes. The past storyline appears to be on the verge of finishing, with thecharacters inYellowjacketsreaching the point in the timeline when they end up getting rescued. However, plenty of life-altering events can still happen in the meantime, which can stretch events as the present timeline enters a new phase.

With plenty of unanswered questions that still need to be addressed, it seems reasonable thatYellowjacketscould have another two seasons left before its curtain call. Although the show seems to be building to major, climactic events in season 4, it seems whatever the plan is going forward will need more time than expected to fully develop. Since the show is also a major hit for Showtime, it would be surprising if it didn’t last as long as it has to in order for its story to be completed.
