The Last of Usmade waves when it first launched in 2013, quickly earning praise for its story and being hailed as one of the best video games ever made. But while Ellie is featured inThe Last of Usfan film,Stayis really the story of original characters Sean and Emily, showing viewers their lives prior to the outbreak and how it compares now that they’re fighting for their lives in post-apocalyptic United States.

The Last of Usfan filmStaydefinitely nails the look, feel, and general tone of the video game. Viewers get to see Sean and Emily fight againstLast of Usmonsters like Clickersas they explore abandoned houses and loot for supplies. Unfortunately, things don’t exactly go well for Sean and Emily, which is what one would expect from a short film set in the world ofThe Last of Us.
Stayhas impressive visual effects and does a great job of telling an original story set inThe Last of Usuniverse. The HBO series, meanwhile, will be more of a direct adaptation of the video game.Pedro Pascal’s Joeland Bella Ramsey’s Ellie will be going through the same trials and tribulations as their characters did in the video games, though there will undoubtedly be some tweaks here and there.
The Last of UsTV serieshas started production, but the first season isn’t expected to drop until sometime in 2022.The Last of UsSeason 1 will consist of 10 episodes that will adapt the story of the first game. It’s unclear if it will touch on any of the events that happen inThe Last of Us 2, and it seems fans will have to wait until they get to watch the show themselves to get answers.
