What Backlash Against Jeopardy! Rerun Schedule Means
Fans Want To See Something Different
The backlash against theJeopardy!rerun schedule means thatfans don’t want to see two tournaments that recently aired, and they’d rather see something else. In the comments section of the post, one fan stated that they’d like to know who was playing on each day because there were certain former contestants that they didn’t want to watch again.
Fans don’t seem to want to watch recentJeopardy!contestants. The call for James to return means thatfans want to see players from the past back on their screens.James declined his invitation to compete inJeopardy! Mastersseason 3, so it’s been over a year since fans have had the pleasure of watching him play.
Our Take On Jeopardy! Reruns Facing Criticism
Jeopardy! Should Air Different Episodes
With all of the buzz surrounding Scott’s 16-day streak,Jeopardy!should’ve shown some games that featured the contestants who he unseated on the Leaderboard of Legends. For example, when he moved into the Top 10 of the highest winnings in regular-game play, he knocked Matt Jackson off of the list. Scott also pushed Roger Craig out of the Top 20. He’s also tied with Ryan Long for most consecutive games won.
It would’ve been interesting to see thoseJeopardy!icons' games again in order to compare them with Scott. In addition, ever since Ken became host, there’s always talk about his record 74-game streak. It would be fun to see some of his games aired during the summer rerun block. Of course,James' legendary run would be a great alternative as well.
It also would’ve been useful forJeopardy!to air the episodes that included the runs of contestants who’ll be Scott’s competitors in the Tournament of Champions. There are five other contestants who guaranteed their place in the TOC by winning five games or more, including Laura Faddah (8),Andrew Hayes (6), Liam Starnes (6), Josh Weikert (6), and Ben Ganger (5). Also, I’m glad we’ll get to see Jonathan’s game again as he’ll be the returning champion in the fall.
As a lifelongJeopardy!fan, I always enjoy revisiting old episodes, so I’ll tune in to some of the summer reruns. However, I agree with the fans who wish that the show was airing something other than the latest tournaments.Jeopardy!has so many iconic competitors, andit would be exciting to revisit their streaks.
