Throughout the years, game developers have tried their best to recreate games that closely resemble the classicJurassic Parkfilms, but for the most part, to no avail. And that’s because previousJurassic Parkgames have focused mainly on having players complete certain objectives to escape Isla Nublar. But, in reality, hardcore dino fans didn’t want to escape the island, but instead, they wanted a chance to recreate their own dino-themed park.

And that’s when Frontier Developments PLC stepped in and created the fantastic gameJurassic World Evolution. But they didn’t stop there, as they releasedJurassic World Evolution 2, which significantly improved from the first. And one core aspect that makes it different is the Cohabitation feature, which is putting different dinosaur species together. And with so many dinosaurs to mix and match, players do well in learning which one’s best to coexist together.

Updated June 26, 2025 by Daniel Dilena:Dinosaurs continue to awe and inspire no matter their age or where they’re from. And that’s because even after millions of years, Paleontologists are still discovering new and unusual dinosaurs, some of which are still yet to be fully reconstructed. Thankfully, with all these unique dinos, video game developers like Frontier have recreated some of them in Jurassic World Evolution 2.

Pyroraptor & Compsognathus Jurassic World Evolution 2

And with theBiosyn Expansion DLC, players now have access to even more dinosaurs, maps, tech, and campaign storylines. And with the addition of new dinos, more Cohabitation options are now available for players. But, players must now find the answer to the question “what dinosaurs can live together in Jurassic World Evolution 2 Dominion Biosyn Expansion?“as failing to do so may lead to a poorly rated Dino Park.

12Pyroraptor & Compsognathus

Shared Needs:

The Pyrorator was amongthe many dinosaurs fans saw inJurassic World Dominion. And in the movie, this Dromaeosauridae (aka feathered theropod dinosaur) showed fans how deadly and cunning a dinosaur can be (at least from the director’s viewpoint). So,Jurassic World Evolution 2fans were ecstatic to learn that Frontier would include it in theDominion BiosynDLC.

Unfortunately, the Pyroraptor doesn’t get along with many dinosaurs (only the Compsognathus), so players must make a habitat solely for them. Players should be careful not to let the Compsognathus breed too much since the Pyroraptor only likes small social groups (3 - 5). The Pyroraptor fossil can be found at the La Bouchard dig site, which costs $540,000 to start.

Various Azhdarchidae Dinosaurs (Quetzalcoatlus, Cearadactylus, Tapejara, and Dimorphodon) Jurassic World Evolution 2

11Quetzalcoatlus, Cearadactylus, Tapejara, and Dimorphodon

Players searching for the best (and most expensive)Jurassic World Evolution 2cohabitationdinosaur from theDominion BiosynDLC should consider adding the Quetzalcoatlus into their park. This Azhdarchidae (Flying Reptile) has a base appeal of 2400, meaning players can expect to gain popularity after adding it to their Dino Park.

But, due to its sheer size, it has a Security Rating of 4, so players must ensure its habitat is well-made and has no weak points. As with the other Azhdarchidae, the Quetzalcoatlus likes being around others of its species, but players will need to make a much bigger enclosure if they plan to add 2 Quetzalcoatlus. Players can find the fossils of this giant flying reptile at the Javelina Formation dig site in the North American region.

10Therizinosaurus & Compsognathus

The Therizinosaurus was the largest biped herbivore to have roamed the earth, reaching over 35ft (10 meters). One of the most notable features of the Therizinosaurus was its long razor-like claws used to tear trees downs and fend off predators. But, due to its massive size, Paleontologists believe there was only one dinosaur capable of taking it down, the Tarbosaurus bataar.

Fortunately, the Tarbosaurus bataar isn’t included inJurassic World Evolution 2(unless a fan creates a mod that adds it to the game). Despite its lack of predators, the Therizinosaurus is only compatible with the Compsognathus, even if this dinosaur is a carnivore. The main reason the Compsognathus is the only suitable dino for cohabitation is that it’s the smallest dinosaur in the game, and the Therizinosaurus requires lots of space to be comfortable. Its fossils can be found at the Nemegt Formation B dig site in Asia.

9Dimetrodon, Homalocephale, Maiasaura, and Tsintaosaurus

Some Paleontologists believe the Dimetrodon was roaming the earth some 290 million years ago, meaning it’s one of the oldest known dinosaurs in the world. And while paleontologists aren’t sure how well this Sphenacodontidae interacted with other dinosaurs, Frontier took the liberty of filling in the details.

The Dimetrodon (despite being a carnivore) gets along with many herbivores inJurassic World Evolution 2, but the best dinosaurs to place with it are the Homalocephale, Maiasaura, and Tsintaosaurus. But, of course, players should avoid placing too many herbivores in the same enclosure as the Dimetrodon (unless it has a negative gene trait for Aggression).

8Crichtonsaurus & Dracorex

The Crichtonsaurus is an armored herbivore that players can create inJurassic World Evolution 2by recovering its fossils from any dig site in the Yuliangze Formation found in China (which is where it was originally discovered by a Chinese paleontologist named Dong Zhiming). And this member of the Ankylosauridae family is the perfect Cohabitation partner for the Dracorex species since they share similar preferences.

Apart from sharing the same diet, the Crichtonsaurus and Dracorex also enjoy smaller social groups (between 3 and 6). Additionally, players can obtain the Dracorex Frenchman Formation A or Hell Creek Formation A, which are found early in the playthrough.

7Attenborosaurus & Ichthyosaurus

One of the few marine reptiles inJurassic World Evolution 2, the Attenborosaurus is a majestic creature that’ll increase a park’s appeal by quite a lot. And the best part is that the Attenborosaurus can be obtained early on in a playthrough if the player focuses on dig sites in Europe or the United Kingdom.

And players that want to further increase their park’s appeal can add the Ichthyosaurus to the Attenborosaurus’s habitat. And that’s because both of these seafaring creatures are Piscivores, making them ideal habitat partners. And the best part is that both have a robust immune system, which means players will spend less keeping them healthy.

6Compsognathus, Majungasaurus, and Qianzhousaurus

Even though Infamy (having two carnivorous dinosaurs fight) can significantly help a park gain appeal inJurassic World Evolution 2, it doesn’t mean players must pursue the road to stardom through epic dino fights. The good news is that players can still have carnivorous dinosaurs in the same enclosure without having them battle each other.

And three dinos that can coexist peacefully are the Majungasaurus, Qianzhousaurus, and Compsognathus. Apart from increasing a player’s park appeal, having the Majungasaurus will also slightly increase Base Dominance, which dictates how famous a dino is. But, of course, players will still need to monitor the habitat population since they’ll fight for territory if they feel cramped.

5Maiasaura & Parasaurolophus

Even though herbivores have less impact on park rating, players can significantly improve park rating by having two medium-sized herbivores in the same enclosure. That’s why players should make sure to invest in the Maiasaura and Parasaurolophus dinosaurs, as they are the perfect match when it comes to medium-sized dinosaurs.

RELATED:Jurassic World Evolution 2: How to Sell Dinosaurs

Players can obtain the Maiasaura by completing the Egg Mountain dig site, and it’ll cost $540,000 to research. As for the Parasaurolophus, players have several dig sites they can choose from, like Kirtland Formation or Nemegt Formation A. The only major downside of these herbivores is that they are susceptible to Avian Influenza, but players canfind a mod forJurassic World Evolution 2to fix that.

4Elasmosaurus & Plesiosaurus

Players who want to have an underwater enclosure that draws in the crowds will want to include the Elasmosaurus and Plesiosaurus since these two marine reptiles combined have 600+ Base Appeal. Furthermore, they require minimal socialization, which means players will need less of them in the enclosure to feel happy.

But, players will need to be willing to spend a lot of cash on feeding these beasts of the sea since they have a Genome Trait of Large Appetite. And while they tend to coexist in harmony, some of them may be aggressive, which means players will need to act quickly to avoid losing one of them.

3Indominus Rex & Velociraptor

The Indominus Rex made its debut in theJurassic Parkuniverse withJurassic World, and it’s the first dinosaur to contain several dinosaur genes. And even though the movie version of this fierce Carnivore was uncontainable, players can keep the Indominus Rex secured in an enclosure.

And as players can expect, adding the Indominus Rex into their park will greatly increase the overall park rating, especially if they add a couple of Velociraptors. But, creating the Indominus Rex uses up lots of Scientists and Research, so players should expect to spend quite a bit of cash to unlock it.
