Cronos: The New Dawn Should Be On Every Horror Fan’s Wishlist

Bloober Team’s Upcoming Horror Sensation Has Plenty To Offer

Cronos: The New Dawnhas me more excited than any other horror game release this year, which is saying a lot with games likeDying Light: The Beastslated for a September release, as well as Supermassive’sDirective 8020,though that waspushed to 2026, among others. The new release date trailer gives us a better sense of what to expectnext month when the game officially launches.

In particular, we get a brief look at the characters and setting, with third-person gameplay and cinematics that could be pulledstraight out ofDead Space.Cronos: The New Dawn’sfocus on psychological/philosophical horrormeans we can expect much more than simple jump scares, and with its survival-based story, I’m hoping for character and plot development on the level ofThe Last of Us.

Cronos Promises A Unique Horror Experience

It’s Past Time For A New & Original Horror Game

Because this is a new original IP from the same team that brought usSilent Hill 2, I’m convincedCronos: The New Dawncould easily be the next major horror blockbuster, assuming it can deliver on both narrative and gameplay.Players are going to be especially drawn to a unique horror story in the game, and relying on simple tricks won’t cut it.

However, after watching the newest trailer, I’m sold on the style and setting and really looking forward to the narrative elements, especially after the scene with the two characters speaking next to a piano. This scene suggests to me thatthe story will be at the forefront of this game, with horrifying gameplay to complement it, rather than the other way around.
