For the past few months,League of Legendsplayers have seen multiple teasers about the next champion, Seraphine. From actual social media accounts tocovering K/DA’s POP/STARS, Riot Games was clearly trying a new approach in promotions leading up to her debut. With the recent confirmation that Seraphine’s release will tie into K/DA’s comeback event in several weeks, the community still didn’t know much about the actual Starry-Eyed Songstress, until now.

While her K/DA version is an aspiring singer from Los Angeles who finally made it big, the Seraphine ofLeague of Legends’main universe is a popstar hailing from Piltover and Zaun. Using her microphone, platform, and ability to feel other peoples' emotions, Seraphine wants to bring out the best in everyone through her music and performances. Naturally, this also extends to her supportive playstyle in-game.

According to Seraphine’s ability descriptions, she can empower important allies or cripple key threats and even have different effects if certain conditions are fulfilled.

Veteranplayers might notice similarities between Seraphine and Sona, a much older musically-themedLeague of Legendssupport. However, Seraphine sounds very different, with a kit that requires being in the thick of things rather than using support spells from the backline. Given enough time, individuals who can master Seraphine’s playstyle should be able to pull off some carry performances inSolo Queueor the esports scene.

Although Seraphine isn’t available yet, she is arriving with Patch 10.22 on October 28th after a brief testing period on the PBE. Until then, players can keep watching Worlds 2020 with anticipation since Seraphine and the rest of K/DA will likely be performing at theShanghai Finals venue with a live audience.
