Nintendo is getting a newLEGOset based on one of its most popular handheld consoles, and it’s not nearly as expensive as might have been expected. There have been some impressive LEGO sets either already released or coming soon this year, like the upcomingOne Piecewaveon August 1. This new Game Boy set, though, might be one of the best ones yet.

Announced in a post onNintendo’s website, a newLEGO Game Boy set has been revealed and is up for pre-order nowover onLEGO. The cost of the set is $59.99, which is a good bit cheaper than previous console collaborations like the NES and Atari 2600. The set officially releases on October 1.

The Game Boy LEGO Set Commands A Lot Of Nostalgia

A 421-Piece Replica

The LEGO model-building kit contains a total of 421 pieces, plus two nostalgic Game Paks,The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening(which gota remake for the Switchin 2019) andSuper Mario Land. TheLEGO set has all the iconic design elements of the original Game Boy, including the control pad, A and B buttons, start and select buttons, and even the volume dial.

Additionally, the set also allows for thetwo Game Paks and the display screens to be interchangeable. Fans will be able to display the classic Game Boy start screen, or the screens that come along with the two Game Pak replicas. The set will come with step-by-step instructions for LEGO beginners, so anyone can build thisclassic piece of Nintendo history.

Even If You Aren’t A Gaming Fan, This Could Be A Must-Get Set

An Affordable Collectible

Being priced at just$59.99 will likely make this set a hot item, even if LEGO fans have little to no interest in Nintendo or the Game Boy. It’s compact, has multiple display options, and the price tag is the cherry on top. Some LEGO sets (and even some parts of sets) are quite expensive nowadays, especially from popular IPs, liketheStar Warsfigures,Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Castle, andThe Lord of the Rings' Rivendell.

With the relatively affordable pricing and accuracy to the original design, the Game Boy might be one of the most appealingLEGOreleases this year. Hopefully, fans will be able to snag one for its intended price before it inevitably becomes far more expensive in the coming years.
