While the franchise has been around since the initial game in 2005, theYakuza/Like a Dragonseries has really seemed to pick up mainstream popularity over the last few entries. Today, Rya Ga Gotoku Studio has confirmed just that.
The Sega-owned developers revealed thatLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealthhas already crossed over the 1,000,000 copies shipped threshold. It took the game a mere week to do so.

When you look at review scores across the industry forLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, itâs easy to see why the latest core entry to the series is doing so hot. Destructoid gave the gamea great review. OnMetacriticthe title earned a 92, 89, and 89 across the Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PC respectively.
The series did a bit of a soft reboot with 2020âsYakuza: Like a Dragoninto RPG territory. As stated in ourInfinite Wealthreview, it has been a bit of a transition period for the franchise as the developers settle in on their vision, but RGG seems to have nailed it. Itâs clear from these sales that the seriesâ fanbase is excited about where itâs headed.
To commemorateInfinite Wealthâs achievement, Rya Ga Gotoku Studio is releasing free in-game swag as a reward to players for helping in the titleâs success. The development team will be gifting acelebratory T-shirt setwith timing and further details coming at a later date.
