Madden NFL 23has launched its sixth title update alongside Season 3 in order to address numerous gameplay issues and tweaks as well as updates to various game modes. The gridiron patch notes include a short paragraph where Electronic Arts discusses the issue with players’Madden NFL 23Franchise saves either disappearing entirely or becoming corrupted that occurred at the end of December.

The latest installment of the long-running football series launched in August 2022 with changes to some of the game’s annual modes while adding new features.EA highlighted the new FieldSENSE, which is intended to give players more control on both sides of the ball, adjustments to Ultimate Team mode, and changes to scouting, free agency, and other various aspects in its Franchise modes. Improvements to a variety of camera angles to ensure touchdown celebrations more closely match what television viewers see, improved visual aspects of stadiums, and the addition of the cornerback position in the Face the Franchise mode were also added to the game.

Included in the patch notes is a short statement claiming that theMadden NFL 23developers have made progress in restoring lost league backups and that they are currently targeting next week to restore the leagues that could be saved. Even with the good news, the patch notes list the current recommendation as simply starting a new league, since EA claimsnot allMadden NFL 23leagues will be able to be recovered. According to the gridiron notes, only around 2% of all leagues created since the game’s launch were affected by the Franchise Cloud Save issue.

Other notable addressed issues include changes to the angles and distance that defenders are detected forapplying pressure to the quarterback, tuning the catch chance for non-ability receivers when performing aggressive catches, and a fix to the difficulty for defenders with catching tipped or deflected passes in traffic. The developers also mention a Rob Gronkowski item that players will be able to earn by leveling up their field pass, logo fixes, and new face scans for six players.

TheMadden NFLfootball brandcontinues to tune and mostly improve the long-running franchise with each title update and season that rolls through. There are some years when it struggles to innovate and justify its role as a yearly purchase, but being the only licensed NFL game helps it weather issues like lost franchise saves without losing much popularity or loyalty. Players and fans will still continue to enjoy taking control of their favorite teams and players, new leagues will be created, and the juggernaut that isMaddenwill continue rumbling down the field despite its stumbles.

Face of the Franchise Updates:

Franchise Mode Update:

Our team is continuing to work on the Franchise Cloud Save issue from 12/28, alongside this Title Update. Further analysis has determined that this issue affected around 2% of all leagues created since launch.

Our team has made progress on restoring backups and we are targeting early next week to restore the leagues that could be recovered. However, the current recommendation is for players to start a new league, as not all leagues will be recoverable.

Play Now Live Update:

Our Franchise Team has added an additional starting point of Week 17 for players starting new Franchises via the “Play Now Live” option. This update will go live via a server side update around the Title Update. There is also a previously scheduled Wild Card update coming next week.
