This year at E3, Square Enix took over the vacant Sony time slot and they delivered a ton of news. The company kicked things off with a bang by revealing tons of new trailers, information, and gameplay ofFinal Fantasy VII Remake. The event closed withMarvel’s Avengersand while fans were excited to finallysee the game in action for the first time, Crystal Dynamics delivered some surprising DLC plans.
At launch,Marvel’s Avengerswill feature the core five super heroes: Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and Captain America. However, Crystal Dynamics isn’t content to stop there as the studio plans to continue expanding the core roster. Better yet? Every new character added to the game can be downloaded at no extra cost to the player such as the recently confirmed Ant-Man.
The post-launch content talk didn’t stop there however as all other future content is coming free of charge as well including new regions. The company also promised that established microtransaction practices such as loot boxes or pay-to-win scenarios would also be avoided. While this is all great news for fans of the game, it likely means that skins or other cosmetic items could be used to generate revenue post-launch inside of an in-game store.
The big reveal also gave fans a better idea of how this game will play. Although no actual gameplay was shown, details from social media accounts have confirmed thatMarvel’s Avengerswill allow for players to take on the game solo or within coop gameplay for up to 4 players. The game will also allow players to customize the roster of heroes as they ultimately defend Earth from escalating threats like the oneseen in the initial trailer.
Marvel’s Avengerslaunches on July 10, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia.
