Marvel is introducing a futuristic version ofWolverinethat is bigger, badder, and much more unhinged than the hero has ever been before, as thelatest team-up between Deadpool and Wolverinereaches its highly anticipated climax, leaving the fate of the world in the duo’s handsas they face-down Apocalypse and a “massive LEGACY 2.0-POWERED WOLVERINE creature.”
Deadpool/Wolverine#10, written by Benjamin Percy, with art by Robert Gill, is set to feature the artificial intelligence known as Legacy 2.0 as a major threat to the heroes.
However, that is going to be complicated by the fact that Legacy is going to adopt a Wolverine-inspired physical form, making it an even more dangerous opponent.

Deadpool/Wolverine#10 caps off a chaotic adventurein which Wolverine and Deadpool have found themselves working, against their will, for the villain Stryfe, who has now beenpossessed by arch-antagonist Apocalypse. Marvel’s synopsis for the endgame issue reads:

• APOCALYPSE’s endgame is in sight. Will WOLVERINE and DEADPOOL serve their mutant overlord or abandon the X-CUTIONERs?

In other words, Legacy’s surprising trajectory over the course of the series all leads to a surprising final form.

Marvel’s choice to reveal Legacy’s “Wolverine creature” form inDeadpool/Wolverine#10 is an interesting one, which highlights anongoing debate among comic fans. On the one hand,it is an effective way to generate buzz for the series. Readers who might not have picked upDeadpool/Wolverinemight now be incentivized to catch up before the final issue’s release.
Meanwhile, many of those who have followed the series will be excited to speculate as to how the story so far will get to these upcoming story beats. For some, though, the speculation isn’t worth the trade-off, which they argue takes the air out of the reading experience.
