In a recent interview, the head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty revealed Microsoft’s intentions of getting to a point where it can release a new first party game every quarter. The goal behind this move is to keep theXbox Game Passservice thriving through a consistent flow of new content for players to experience. As the portfolio grows, the service should as well.
While many Xbox Series X fans would point to the fact that the hardware has a serious lack of exclusives, especially afterthe delay toHalo: Infinitelate last year, Microsoft has been attempting to remedy that over the past few years through acquiring and developing new studios like The Initiative. Last year showed Xbox fans a slew of new titles in active development, so eventually, Microsoft will likely be able to meet its goal of launching at least one newfirst-party title on Game Passper quarter.
