Mortal Kombat 11currently ranks in second place fortop fighting games on PS4 and Xbox One, falling only behind its predecessorMortal Kombat X. There’s a good chanceMortal Kombat 11will eventually surpass it, given the on-going popularity with the game. Yet, that’s not to say it’s without its faults, and Kitana is arguably one of the more broken characters of the game.
Now, she’s not broken in terms of being far more powerful than others; it’s actually the opposite. On mostMortal Kombat 11tier lists, Kitana will find herself on the lower end because her damage scaling is not on par with other characters. And the drastic difference is far more telling in this new video than one might think.

As seen below, Redditor sabota1659 demonstrates two different instances to showcase her damage scaling. One is a full combo straight into a Fatal Blow, where her damage hits 371, and the other is two standing strikes into a Fatal Blow for 379 damage. The lengthier maneuver with more hits deals less damage than two basic strikes and the same ending as a result of her broken damage scaling inMortal Kombat 11.
It doesn’t end there, however, as some characters have bad damage scaling but make up with it with other manuevers. Geras, for example, is on par withKitanain terms of damage scaling, but players can’t escape Geras' stun until the freeze wears off. Kitana’s can be easily escaped though, leaving her with bad damage, bad damage scaling, a low damage fatal blow, and a weak stun move. In other words, there’s almost no balance for Kitana’s weak damage scaling.
The good news is thatMortal Kombat 11developer NetherRealm Studios is no stranger to implementing various fixes into the game, which has received a steady amount of post-launch support. While the majority of that is newMK11DLC characters like Jokercoming next month, it stands to reason that Kitana could easily get a buff or at least some balancing abilities at some point in the future. Only time will tell, though.
