Among the Lamplighters, Faerin Lothar is a paragon, and one of the first Arathi players meet in Hallowfall. She is a stalwart champion of the Light who is the first to act when people are in danger, and her compassion and friendship withAnduin is central to the story of theWorld of Warcaft: The War Within. However, Faerin has a special detail about her: she lost her left arm and eye to an injury 15 years ago. In spite of that, Faerin is a skilled fighter, and by wielding a prosthetic arm in the form of a shield, the Lamplighter is no stranger to the front lines.

Who is Faerin Lothar in WoW: The War Within?

World of Warcrafthas depicted injuries like Faerin’s in the past. Characters like the Blood Elf regent Lor’themar Theron have one eye, and most player characters can even give themselves similar blind eye customizations. That said, prosthetics are much less common, with only Mechagnomes, demons like the Mo’arg, and Shattered Hand orcs like Kargath Bladefist being some of the only examples. According to someThe War Withindialogue captured by Wowhead, Faerin is even more unique in that she chooses not to wear a prosthetic off the battlefield, as she is already used to living without an arm.

By and large, the vast majority of players are excited to learn more about Faerin. Her design is exceptionally striking, and her go-getter personality is sure to win hearts. ThoughThe War Withinis set to introduce several interesting characters, Faerin is likely to become a fan favorite – especially considering she is also the star of one of the newThe War Withinshort storiesWorld of Warcraftis releasing this November.
