WhenOne Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knowswas announced in early July, anime fans knew it’d be something special. After all, how do you design a fighting game about a character that’s all-but invulnerable to damage and never loses a fight? Luckily,One Punch Manis full of unique characters that can, and often do, fight more equally before Saitama arrives. Today Bandai Namco’s decided to reveal two moreOne Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knowsfighters that will be joining the game’s roster.
The reveals come via the latest issue ofV Jump, one of Japan’s most popular serial manga magazines. The first new fighter will be Bad or Baddo, who is better known by his hero name, Metal Bat. Metal Bat has superhuman strength and agility, often used against his enemies via his trusty baseball bat. Fighter number two is, surprisingly, Tanktop Master. The super strong and super fast leader of the Tank Topper Army may not be as popular as other heroes, but he gets a lot of screen time in theOne Punch Mananime.

Both Metal Bat and Tanktop Master are S-Class heroes in theOne Punch Manuniverse. Within S-Rank, Metal Bat is rank 15 and Tanktop Master is rank 16. They’ll be joining 13 other previously confirmed fighters, though Saitama isn’t technically playable in the same way other fighters are. Oddly enough, only three other S-Rank heroes have been confirmed forOne Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows' roster, in Tatsumaki, Bang, and Atomic Samurai. There are clearly a lot more fighters left to announce.
The announcement also has a somewhat of a mystery that’s left fans confused. In addition to Tanktop Master, both Tanktop Black Hole and Tanktop Tiger were also shown. It’s unclear if these two characters will be fighters, too, or if they’re there for other reasons. It’s possible that they’ll assist Tanktop Master in certain abilities, that they’ll be alternate skins for Tanktop Master, or will have other purposes inOne Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows' gameplay.
For those unfamiliar withOne Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows, it’s a 3D fighting game developed by Spike Chunsoft and published by Bandai Namco. It’s being compared toJump Force, which is a similar game made with the same developer/publisher combination. Though it does seem to have more accurate visuals thanJump Force, better fitting the anime aesthetics ofOne Punch Man. One other positive takeaway from the comparison is thatJump Force’s roster of fightersis huge.One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knowswill hopefully have a similarly large roster.
One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knowshas no current release window and is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
