However, Hannah later reveals to Natalie Scattorcio (Sophie Thatcher) that she is only doing what she feels she has to do to survive, and she is still determined to escape the wilderness and get home. Hannah Is Wearing Edwin’s Vest & Flannel In The Yellowjackets Season 3 Finale

She Continues To Carry Edwin With Her

While discussingHannah’s future inYellowjackets, Sutton shares that Hannah is wearing Edwin’s vest and flannel during the season 3 finale. Even though Hannah became enamored by Kodiak, Edwin was her boyfriend who she chose to go into the wilderness and study frogs with, and she genuinely cared about him. Hannah reminds Natalie and the audience of this when she mentions that she came to the wilderness to study frogs, only to see her boyfriend get murdered with an ax.

Beyond this line,Hannah wearing Edwin’s vest and flannel is a way of demonstrating how much he meant to her. While she has to primarily be focused on survival and self-preservation right now, Hannah does not want to lose sight of herself and the person she was before encountering the Yellowjackets. Wearing some of Edwin’s clothing is a bittersweet way for her to remember Edwin while continuing to remind herself of what the Yellowjackets have taken from her.

Hannah Wearing Edwin’s Clothing Has A Deeper Meaning In Yellowjackets

It Is Part Of Her Healing

Sutton breaks down howwearing Edwin’s clothing is part of Hannah reclaiming her power and beginning to process what has happened to her. From the moment thatLottie killed Edwin, Hannah has been operating in survival mode, and has not had an opportunity to process what happened to her, Edwin, and Kodiak. Having Edwin’s clothing allows her to begin healing, processing, and to take back the power that the Yellowjackets stole from her. Check out Sutton’s comments below:

I don’t think she has processed any of it. Everything is happening so quickly. Now that she has some power with Shauna, she’s like, “Can I have Edwin’s things so that I can be close to him?” I think that’s the very beginning of her processing everything.

This makes Hannah’s integral role in Natalie’s plan all the more satisfying. Hannah’s initiative, courage, and her defiance of Shauna are even more rewarding when seen through the lens of someone who is beginning to process and heal from her trauma. Meanwhile, Shauna and Lottie are going down their respective dark paths because they will not let themselves process or heal from their trauma. Hannah buys Natalie time to make contact with the outside world, and the impact of this decision will play out inYellowjacketsseason 4.
