The Showrunner Confirms That Uncle Lamb Will Be A Part Of Blood Of My Blood’s Story
AtBlood of My Blood’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, whichScreenRantwas in attendance for, showrunner Matthew B. Roberts confirmed that Uncle Lamb will be appearing in theOutlanderprequel series.Uncle Lamb is seen very briefly in theOutlanderpilot,during a flashback where Claire explains her upbringing; he is only passingly referenced elsewhere in the show.
However, the prequel is now set to properly explore this character, a historian and archeologist who raised Claire while bringing her along on his travels for research worldwide (he tried to enroll her in boarding school, but she refused). While we see how this unconventional childhood shapes Claire later, we do not know much about his side of the story.
Claire’s uncle was killed during the Blitz in 1941, but for someone who so obviously influenced Claire’s life, he is hardly talked about.Especially because of Uncle Lamb’s profession of studying history, he will be a fascinating addition toBlood of My Blood,potentiallytying the show’s themes of time and heritage all together in yet another way.

Should Claire someday discover that her parents survived and couldn’t return to her, Uncle Lamb would be an even more important figure. Ultimately, her whole family played a role in who she became, and this theme of a family’s history lingering within the next generation is vital toOutlander: Blood of My Blood.
