Like many other top content creators, onlyjayus is no stranger to controversy, to the point where there is now a petition demanding that they are banned from TikTok. The petition has gained considerable steam onChange.org, with over 180,000 signatures at the time of this writing and the number increasing with each page refresh. Onlyjayus may actually be responsible for the petition’s popularity, as they have discussed it on one of their extra TikTok accounts, even saying that they would ban themselves if it managed to get 13.5 million signatures to match their number of TikTok followers.

“I’m so confident that’s not going to happen, I’ll sign it myself,” onlyjayus said in theTikTokvideo. They also claimed to have paid to boost the petition’s visibility. These efforts and various other TikTok creators covering the controversy has no doubt played a role in boosting the petition and helping it reach the nearly 200,000 signatures it has at the time of publication.
Needless to say, there are a variety of reasons as to why onlyjayus is a controversial figure on TikTok. However, it seems highly unlikely that this petition will hit the staggering 13.5 million signatures that it would need for the creator to ban themselves from the platform. It’s also unlikely that TikTok itself will actually ban someone because of a petition; for aTikTok banto happen, like with other services, onlyjayus would have to break the platform’s rules.
Whether or not onlyjayus is banned from TikTok remains to be seen. From TikTok to YouTube toTwitch, their online following only seems to be growing, and ironically the attention this petition is getting may only serve to make them even more famous.
