Dynamax Sobble is the latest Pokémon to take center stage inPokémon GOas part of Max Mondays. The Generation 8 Water-type starter is a fan favorite across the series and has the potential to evolve into the powerful Inteleon as its final stage. It is the latest Pokémon to feature in the weekly event as part of theMax Mondays schedulefor all players throughout April 2025. Scobble will feature in the event onMonday 22 June 2025,between 6pm and 7pm local time.

Alongside fellow starter Pokémon Scorbunny and Grookey, Dynamax Sobble was released last year intoPokémon GOshortly after Dynamax variants were added to the game. All Dynamax Pokémon can primarily only be caught in one way, through Max Battles, with Max Monday’s offering the perfect chance to catch one. During the hour that it is featured, only Dynamax Sobble will be available to find in any Max Battles.

Dynamax Sobble Weaknesses & Resistance In Pokémon GO

Electric & Grass Types Are Critical

As a starter type, Sobble is a pure Water-type Pokémon inPokémon GO. To succeed in Max Battles and be able to take it down, it’s vital to know what it is weak against and what it resists. While it is only a tier 1 Max Battle, you will be able to defeat it more easily if you use Pokémon types that are super-effective against it. It is weak to Electric- and Grass-type attacks. Any moves of these two types will do anadditional 60% damage.

On the opposite end of things, Sobble resists four different types of attacks as a Water-type. It takes less damage fromFire-, Ice-, Steel-, and Water-type attacks. You should avoid using any Pokémon of these types, as all of their moves do 37.5% less damage to Sobble. Max Battles differ from regular battles against AI opponents likeTeam GO Rocket Leader Giovanniand regular raids in that the moves of your Pokémon change and are predetermined by your Pokémon’s type.

Five Super-Effective Options

Thankfully,Pokémon GOfeatures plenty of good options for taking down Dynamax Sobble on Max Mondays. You shoulduse Electric or Grass typesfor the battle if you have three in either Gigantamax or Dynamax form. Currently, there are five Pokémon, or evolution lines, which fall under one of the two types that are super-effective against Sobble.

One of theGigantamax Pokémon you can use is Venusaur. The Grass and Poison type should be set up with Grass-type moves and will make very quick work of this Max Battle. Likewise,Gigantamax Toxtricityis an Electric type and will be equally able to defeat Sobble on its own.

Grass and Poison

Vine Whip and G-Max Vine Lash

Electric and Poison

Spark and G-Max Stun Shock

Thunder Shock and Wild Charge

Electric and Flying

Thunder Shock and Thunderbolt

If you haven’t been able to catch Gigantamax, you shouldn’t worry, as I have found that standard Dynamax Pokémon that are super-effective against Sobble will still comfortably be able to take it down. TheLegendary Pokémon Zapdosand Raikou have both been available inPokémon GOin Dynamax form since the turn of the year and feature fantastic attacking stats, making this an easy battle to win. Finally, Pokémon likeRillaboomwho are also super-effective against Sobble will do the job if you don’t have the option to use one of the above.

As Sobble is a one-star Max Battle, you will easily be able to defeat it with one Pokémon that is super-effective.

To be able to take on Dynamax Sobble on Max Mondays, all you need to do is find aPower Spot nearby. Any active ones that have a Pokémon in them will contain Sobble for the featured hour. You can take on the Max Battle as a solo player or with friends, but it can be defeated on your own.

The most difficult element of the battle is that you are limited to usingDynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon, but you should still have plenty to choose from if you have playedPokémon GOover the last six months. Dynamax Sobble is not one of the hardest Pokémon to defeat on Max Mondays, but you can make the task even easier by using Electric- or Grass-type Pokémon inPokémon GO.
