Just what happened to Amethio, though, and could his fate be the same as Friede’s?
When the Land of Laqua began to crumble, the Rising Volt Tacklers made their daring escape, but Friede didn’t make it along with them, instead falling into the clouds, never to be seen again. The Explorers must have also booked it out of there, but it wasn’t shown exactly what happened to Amethio. Amethio had teamed up with the Rising Volt Tacklers to stop his grandfather and leader of the Explorers, Gibeon, but didn’t retreat alongside them when the situation became unstable.According to Spinel, Amethio died alongside Gibeon, but at least one character is sure that isn’t true.
Could Amethio Be Together with Friede?
The Young Trainer is Completely Unaccounted For
Amethio, like Friede, had access to a flying Pokémon, so he should’ve had an opportunity to attempt to escape on his own. However, it’s extremely suspicious that Amethio hasn’t resurfaced even once in the past year. Where could Amethio be? There are a few possibilities to consider. It’s always possible thathe and Friede are trapped in Laqua somehow, and are currently working together to find a way out of this situation. It would certainly be better than either of them being trapped alone, and if anyone can find a way out, it would be the two of them.
Alternatively, it’s possible Amethio is on his own mission at the moment. Amethio watched the White Zygarde abandon his grandfather, apparently having the same doubts about his plans that Amethio did.Amethio may be on the search for the White Zygarde now, attempting to convince it that he has what’s best for the world in mind. This would align with Hamber handing Amethio’s underlings, Zir and Conia, a Zygarde Cube, which is used to collect Zygarde cells. Hopefully the two followers can track down Amethio soon and reveal what he’s up to.

Amethio has been working towards redemption almost since his first appearance on screen, so this development is a particularly interesting one, considering he had finally agreed to work with the heroes in the Laqua showdown.This disappearance could mark a substantial change for his character, but it’s hard to say for sure without knowing precisely what he’s up to. Between Amethio and Friede, there are two popular characters whose fates are totally unknown at the moment.
Perhaps Amethio is lying low for now, knowing that Spinel has been able to consolidate power and would be a major problem to confront directly. It’s more important for the truth to come out in time, so Amethio could be preparing to strike at an opportune moment. Either way,Pokémon Horizonsis making it clear that things have really changed in this new era.
