A week ago,a leak from Niantic’s official assetssuggested thatPokemon GOOctober Community Day would feature the fan-favorite Psychic- and Steel-type Pokemon, Beldum. Now, Niantic has officially revealed this to be true, meaning players will potentially be able to add a shiny Metagross to their collection.
For those unaware, October’s Community Day is slated to occur on October 21 beginning at 11 AM PDT and 2 PM ET. Currently, the special move learned when Metang evolves into Metagross is unknown, but it is likely to be Meteor Mash. ThisPokemon GOmove would elevate Metagross’s role in the meta game, as well as give the Pokemon a viable steel type move.
Of course, it’s also worth mentioning that we don’t know if there will be a spawn increase in Beldums, but it’s incredibly likely to occur, as it has on previous Community Days. Other bonuses (as seen below) include 1/4 hatching distances as well as the typical 3-hour lures. Moreover, it seems that Metangs evolved up to an hour after the event ends will still learn the special move.
That final bonus will be incredibly helpful, asPokemon GOplayers won’t have to stress to evolve Beldum within the parameters of the event. Players can instead focus on getting that shiny Beldum or perfect IV Beldum to evolve the perfect one. While it’s not likely to have a gimmick like thesunglasses Squirtle, a shiny or powerful Metagross is reason enough to play this forthcoming Community Day.
Although this October Community Day is shaping up to be one worth remembering, it’s not the only thing going on in the mobile ARGPokemon GO.With Mewtwo recently transitioning to a regular tier 5 raid boss, plenty of players may be struggling with bringing the Psychic-type behemoth down. For those players, here’s aguide on how to beat and catch Mewtwo.
