As predicted, the summer of events is off to a strong start inPokemon GO. Niantic isn’t wasting any time and trainers are all set to kick things off with an action-packed Extraordinary Raid Week full of bonuses, shiny creatures, and other special opportunities (and tons of profit for Niantic). There’s a lot to keep track of, but we’ve got the most important details right here.
First of all, it’s important to understand that Extraordinary Raid Week is actually three separatePokemon GOevents that will be taking place in between the span of May 21 and May 28. There’s a lot of going on during that span of time, but most players will likely be keeping an eye onthe updated list of available raid bossesand the chance to earn an awesome shiny Lapras.
Although catching a new shiny or two is obviously the bonus that jumps out first, 2x Raid XP and 2x Raid Stardust (the most valuable resource in the game) are great additional motivation to get out and raiding as much as possible during this series of events.
The dinner time Raid Hour’s return is very exciting to many players who don’t get a chance to frequently raid throughout the day. Theselunchtime or dinner time eventsoffer the opportunity to guarantee a relevant encounter and plan ahead. Between that and Lapras Raid Day,Pokemon GOfans should have plenty of motivation to spend some coins (or real dollars) on a few extra Raid Passes and take full advantage of the Raid Week.
Collecting shiny Pokemon doesn’t give the trainer any kind of advantage in battle, but it is still a fun additional challenge to add into the game. Shiny Pokemon are perfect for leaving in Gyms to show off to the rest of the community.
