Here’s how to find and capture the fan favorite pocket monster Pichu for trainers venturing out into the world ofPokemon Sun and Moon.
It’s no secret that the overarching aim of any newPokemongame is tocatch ‘em all, but trainers just starting out inPokemon Sun and Moonwill no doubt have certain beasties that take priority. For many players, Ash Ketchum’s trusty sidekick Pikachu will be high on the list of creatures to catch.
However, it’s not all that easy to find a Pikachu out in the wild on the tropical islands of theAlola region.Indeed, it seems that the easiest strategy is to find a Pichu and take the necessary steps to evolve it into the iconic Poke-mascot, according to a report fromVG247.
Fortunately for any trainers that don’t mind whether they capture a Pikachu outright or catch a Pichu and evolve it later on, the twoPokemontend to hang out in the same areas. By wandering around these locations, players will be able to rely upon capturing a Pichu, even if they don’t stumble upon a Pikachu.
Pikachu and Pichu both spawn in the earliest area players can access in the game: Route 1 on Melemele Island. This is a great opportunity to play through as much of the game as possible with this particular Pokemon in your party — although it has to be said that both creatures are more copious elsewhere.
The best place to look for these electric-type monsters is in the gardens of Hau’oli City, which is also on Melemele Island. They’re more common here than on Route 1, so trainers will likely be able to enter a battle with either a Pichu or a Pikachu without needing towander around in long grassfor quite so long.
After capturing a Pichu, trainers need to make sure it’s happy to prompt it to evolve into Pikachu. There are several different methods of doing this, including:
By combining all these different methods, it should be easy to make Pichu happy enough to transform into a Pikachu. From there, the process of evolving Pikachu into Raichu is as simple as exposing the creature to a Thunder Stone.
