PlayStationusers will have to deal with the digital store closures for the PS3, PSP, and PS Vita in the coming months. While users are rushing to purchase all the games they can from thesePlayStationplatforms before the respective stores close, there is an important piece of information that should be taken into account involving the use of PS Plus on older platforms.

However, there is a workaround to this little problem. If the PS Plus subscription lapses before the stores shut down, then users can buy the games before thePlayStation stores shut down. Sadly, there’s no way for users to cancel their subscription other than to turn off auto-renew, so if the auto-renewal date falls after the stores shut down, there’s no way for players to purchase the games they downloaded via PS Plus.
While this may seem like a pretty big oversight, it’s important to keep in mind that each of these systems are several years old. ThePS Vitamay be the youngest system comparatively, given that it was released in 2011, both the PS3 and the PSP released in the mid-2000s and are over ten years old. Sony has since made much greater strides in terms of accessibility on newer systems that older systems just don’t possess.
Hopefully, this doesn’t cause too many issues for players. Every user situation is different, but now players will be able to safeguard their games on older platforms. That being said, players will have to act fast if they want to get any additional games on either system. Quite a lot ofPS1 games will be made unavailableonce the stores shut down, so it’s important forPlayStationusers to use their time wisely.
