ARed Dead Onlineplayer has been turned into a UFO by a disgruntled hacker.Red Dead Onlineis about exploring the West in new and interesting ways, but this is perhaps too new and too interesting a perspective for what most would expect from the game.

It’s no secret thatRed Dead Onlinehas a hacking problemat the moment. For many players, it’s almost impossible to find a lobby where someone isn’t up to something nefarious, ruining the fun for everyone else. It’s a shame to see the game in such a state after Rockstar left it by the wayside to fend for itself. In the wake ofGTA Online’s mammoth financial success, choosing to focus efforts on that might make sense from a monetary point-of-view, but in terms of securingRed Dead Online’s legacy, the developer has arguably gone about it in the worst possible way.

Redditor RoseD-ovE shared the interesting footage online, in which they move around Valentine in the form of a UFO. Bizarrely, they still have full access to weapons, and are even able to kill other players as a UFO. According to the user, this incident was due to a modder being mad that their aim was better, with this being the punishment. It’s times like these that the user will have wished theRed Dead Onlineplayer who dressed as Batman and Robinwere on the scene to help in this situation.

Gamers aren’t totally defenseless against hackers. In this case, other users in the thread pointed out that using something with a table, such as a store, will reset the character model, so this isn’t a permanent issue. It’s still frustrating that this is just now an expected part of the experience. OneRed Dead Onlineplayer did share their clever way to deal with hackersrecently, so some are already beginning to fight back in this situation. Hopefully, players can come up with more ways to make hacking a more frustrating experience so that it goes away for good.

IfRed Dead Onlineis to survive without the help of Rockstar, it needs to maintain a strong player base that acts right toward each other. While there are still plenty ofhilarious things to discover inRed Dead Online, without a solid amount of players, the game is unfortunately going to struggle to survive untilRed Dead Redemption 3. Gamers will have to hope that Rockstar changes its stance about the game and comes back with more post-launch support to eliminate the hackers. In the meantime, roleplay servers on RedM provide a great alternative to the officialRed Dead Onlineservers.

Red Dead Onlineis currently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
