Summary

Relics are an incredibly useful resource inRemnant 2which can only be used a certain amount of times depending on their charges, but they can also produce some incredibly beneficial effects for the player, and sometimes, even the entire team. The best Relics inRemnant 2aren’t just items that are used once though since they can even be upgraded so long as the player has found the necessary Relic Fragments which can add special buffs and enhancements which have the potential to completely changehow an Archetype is usedin-game.

While Relics can already be game-changing on their own, they become even more effective thanks to the Relic Perks which are one of the five perks that each Archetype possesses as part of their kit. For Archetypes that don’t rely as much on Relics in their gameplay, their Relic Perks may not be as flashy or useful assome others, but it’s still good to know which areoften seen as the bestsince it could become a deciding factor on what Archetype might be worth investing the most time into.

6Sleight Of Hand - Gunslinger

The truth is,the Gunslingeralready has a few perks that can make reloading much faster including Quick Hands and his Loaded Prime Perk which instantly reloads all weapons while also granting an infinite reserve for 5 seconds, but where Sleight of Hand shines is when it’s upgraded after the class reaches level 9.

The 15% increased ranged damage goes an extremely long way, especially when also paired up with Relic Fragments or even a Ranged Mutator which is capable of ramping up the damage of his weapons and their reload speed even more. Overall, while it may not be as groundbreaking as some of the other classes Relic Perks, it’s still very nice to have as a passive buff to ensure each bullet deals as much damage as possible when it lands.

5Surplus - Engineer

Despite being incredibly powerful, the two major downsides of the Engineer’s Heavy Weapons are that they limit his movement if he decides to use them manually, and they will also burn through ammo until the Archetype reaches a high enough level to grant it more bullets to fire when thrown out, and luckily, Surplus helps to negate at least one of these issues.

This Relic Perk makes the Engineer a far more formidable class that is capable of surviving against even the harshest enemy encounters since all he needs to do is use a Relic toregenerate some healthbefore then gunning down monsters with the Heavy Weapon which will now have much more ammunition to spit out. Surplus is a great way to ensure Heavy Weapons can keep firing without the Engineer having to resort to their Prime Perk too much so that it can be saved for bigger enemies.

4Experimentalist - Alchemist

Arguably the most fun perk in the entire game due to its random nature, Experimentalist could be considered somewhat of a risky ability because the buff acquired will be completely random and might not be the correct one for the current situation, but since the buff will also apply to teammates once the perk is upgraded, it’s hard to receive anything that isn’t going to at least benefitsomeone on the team.

The actual buffs that can be granted from Experimentalist include ranged and melee damage, movement speed, reload speed, and a boost to health regeneration, alongside many others, and considering it automatically activates upon using a Relic, it never hurts to have an extra buff alongside the added health. Any players who have an interest inthe Alchemist classshould focus on boosting their regular stats with Mutators and Relic Fragments since combining these buffs with Experimentalist will make them a real force to be reckoned with and a crucial member of any team.

3Self Discovery - Explorer

Self Discovery is a perk that works in conjunction with the Explorer’s Damage Perk, Scavenger, which increases the total damage dealt by 0.5% each time a stack of pickups is acquired. By using a Relic, the Scavenger stacks are instantly refilled, and the buff itself lasts for much longer thanks to the slower Stack Decay.

Whilethe Explorermay not be an Archetype which is primarily designed around dealing damage, Self Discovery is the perk that allows players to create a build that is a little more focused on getting in and killing monsters as opposed to hanging back and exploring. It’s also important to know that Scavenger will buff all types of damage including both ranged and melee weapons, giving players the freedom to focus on building up any weapon they would like while boosting the damage it deals exponentially so long as they have enough Relic charges.

2Incite - Summoner

To usethe Summoner Archetypeto the best of their abilities, players will need to be a little more strategic with how they play compared to other classes as they command their minions around to do much of the fighting for them, but the only issue is the minions themselves can be quite squishy and won’t last very long against fearsome enemies like the Empowered Slayer for example, or even smaller groups of Root Zombies.

This is why Incite is so important since it means the minions can be as effective as possible before they finally perish, and since the Summoner class largely revolves around the Ruthless perk which allows minions to become enraged, it’s never a bad thing to have an extra ability that helps them stay alive for as long as they can. This can also set up some very tactical combat tactics such as enraging the minions and keeping them alive by using Relics before then sacrificing them to deal a final dose of AOE damage.

1Override - Invader

Remnant 2’sThreat Detection system is pretty unique in the sense that, while most games will simply allow the character toeither turn invisibleor be fully detectable to enemies, there is a built-in system inRemnant 2that determines how probable it is for the player to be spotted depending on certain statistics and buffs.

Avoiding enemy detection is a big part of the Invader’s game plan, but Override goes above and beyond with the buffs it offers when a Relic is consumed. The reduced Threat Generation means the Invader can initiate flanks incredibly easily after placing a decoy, but since the upgraded version will automatically leave an Empowered Decoy after a successful evade, the character might as well be completely invisible. On top of all this, because of how easy Override makes sneaking around, it means the Invader can save their Skills for when they are desperately needed to save the team from a sticky situation.
