Gunfire Games releasedRemnant: From the Ashesback in August, 2019 and it won’t be long before the post-apocalyptic third-person shooter survival action title gets enhanced for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Publisher Perfect World Entertainment has officially confirmed that the free next-gen upgrade forRemnant: From the Asheswill be arriving for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on Thursday, May 13th. This major update will enhance both the visuals and performance of the game and it will patch the option to run the game at 4K resolution and 30FPS on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, or 1080p resolution and 60FPS on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Upgraded Performance
The post-apocalypticworld ofRemnant: From the Asheswill look significantly better in 4K resolution, while fans of performance will appreciate the 60FPS mode as a tradeoff. Gunfire Games will be bringingRemnant: From the Ashesto the Microsoft Store and the Xbox App for Windows. The title can also be accessed through Xbox Game Pass for PC and can be installed ahead of the release of the next-gen upgrade patch. Xbox One players will also be able to crossplay with friends on Xbox Series X/S on May 13th as part of the new update.
Considering the fact thatRemnant: From the Ashesis part of Xbox Game Pass and haspreviously been a PlayStation Plus featured title, many PS5 and Xbox Series X owners should be able to take advantage of this free upgrade. This next-gen upgrade patch has been confirmed as a major one, so it will likely be a hefty and lengthy download when it releases next week. Gunfire Games and Perfect World Entertainment haven’t confirmed crossplay between Xbox and PlayStation consoles so it’s likely that the crossplay is limited to the Xbox platform.
WhileRemnant: From the Asheswon’t be getting the PlayStation crossplay support with this next-gen upgrade patch, the feature may wind up patched in the future if there’s enough demand.
