However, he hasn’t been the onlycharacter inResident Alienseeking redemption. D’Arcy has also been trying to become a better person, but has been fumbling her opportunities. In season 4, episode 6,she lost $2,000 belonging to Asta for her diner depositafter drinking too much one night. The stressful event prompted an important change for her character.

She’s Decided To Take Control Of Her Life Again
The biggest reason D’Arcy lost Asta’s money was because she got drunk with Judyand couldn’t remember what happened to it. When they retraced their steps, she came to believe that she’d accidentally left the money in her jacket and took it off in a truck, the driver leaving with the money in tow. This made her feel incredibly guilty.
However, she wasn’t able to own up to it with Asta, realizing just how far gone she’d become. After an enlightening conversation with Harry,D’Arcy decided to attend an AA meeting at the end of the episode. This couldresolve anotherResident Alienstoryas she tries to become more responsible for her own actions by admitting her wrongdoings.
The episode ends on an even more triumphant note for D’Arcy, though, whenMike arrives at the diner with the $2,000. It turns out D’Arcy accidentally put it in the mailbox next to the bank slot, but didn’t realize it because she was drunk. Although she’s atoning for her actions, she ended up causing less damage than she thought.

However, by the timeResident Alienseason 4, episode 6ends,D’Arcy isn’t aware that she actually put the money in the mailbox. The show could have easily absolved her of her mistake by revealing this information to her. Instead, it shows that she’s still a good friend, even though she needs to work on being a more responsible person.
The fact thatD’Arcy didn’t learn about the money’s true fate and took responsibility for herselfmakes her storyline all the more endearing.Resident Alienallowed her more complexity by keeping her from knowing the truth. This will make her ongoing redemption arc all the more satisfying as she tries to be a better person for herself and her friends.
