It’s safe to presume that plenty of survival-horror fans have already completed the majority of what theResident Evil 2remake’s base game has to offer, and are looking forward to the game’s forthcomingGhost Survivors DLC. Until then, some players are biding their time by making various mods for the title, with one recent creation importing theDino Crisisprotagonist Regina into theRE2remake.

Thanks to the handiwork of the modder and YouTuber known simply as Crazy Potato,Resident Evil 2fans should expect for there to be a downloadable version of the mod featuring Regina fromDino Crisissoon, but no official time frame has been given just yet. When it does become available, though, it appears as if the mod will work by porting in assets that portray the likeness of theDino Crisislead as a skin for theRE2remake’s co-protagonist Claire Redfield.

It has been quite some time since the lastDino Crisiswas released, with the third numbered entry in the series having been put out for the original Xbox back in 2003, so there’s a good chance that thisResident Evil 2mod is Crazy Potato’s way of saying that they would enjoy seeing a new installment soon. As rumor has it,Capcom Vancouver was once approached to do a rebootof theDino Crisisfranchise, but chose to work on the unreleasedKnights of Aegisin 2013 instead. Unfortunately, no official word has been shared thus far if the series will be revived.

Taking everything here into consideration, with theResident Evil 2remake having had a considerable amount of success due to its positive critical reception and solid sales, Capcom could very well decide to remake other IPs in its back catalog, includingDino Crisis. The publisher and developer has previously expressed interest in remaking and remastering many of its AAA releases–includingResident Evil 3–so we will have to simply wait and see if Regina and herDino Crisiscohorts eventually return in some way, shape, or form in the future.

Resident Evil 2is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
