Ubisoft may have accidentally revealed the launch window for the upcomingAssassin’s Creed Codename Red. Following itsUbisoft Forward event in 2022, the publisher has noticeably ramped up its efforts in developing moreAssassin’s Creedprojects over the next few years. Among these,Assassin’s Creed Codename Redis set to be one of the more intriguing entries to the franchise. Now, it appears fans might not have to wait long to get a glimpse into the game.
During its official announcement, Ubisoft stated thatAssassin’s Creed Codename Redwill take place in feudal Japan, one of the more requested settings for the series. While not many details have been shared about the game since then, one popular rumor suggests thatAssassin’s Creed Codename Redmay feature two main playable characters, one a samurai and the other a shinobi. Although, it’s unclear if this will reportedly take the form of two unique narratives or will be a singular interchangeable character. Either way, there’s little to confirm the validity of the rumor yet.

However, this isn’t the only new intriguing addition to the franchise. The witch-themedAssassin’s Creed Codename Hexeis set to be another ambitious entrywhere it’s reportedly going to feature a late 16th/early 17th century Germany during the reign of the Holy Roman Empire. Interestingly, both of these titles will be playable viaAssassin’s Creed Infinity, a live-service hub for future titles in the series.
Of course, only time will tell what the actual release window will be forAssassin’s Creed Codename Red, particularly considering the delays that have plagued numerous AAA projects in recent times. Thankfully, fans would not have to wait much longer to experience the next big sequel to Ubisoft’s franchise as afeature-packedAssassin’s Creed Miragegets ready to release in October.
