The first poster for Ryan Gosling’s space adventureProject Hail Maryhas been revealed. Directed byPhil Lord and Christopher Miller(21 Jump Street, The LEGO Movie), the upcoming film is adapted from Andy Weir’s novel of the same name and will be released in March 2026.
Gosling stars as Ryland Grace, a science teacher who wakes up on a spaceship with no memory of how he got there. However, he soon realizes that he’s been tasked with solving a mystery threatening Earth:what is making the sun die out?Project Hail Maryalso stars Sandra Hüller, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, and Milana Vayntrub.
Amazon MGM Studios has now kicked off promotion forProject Hail Maryby releasing the first poster, which features an astronaut (likely Gosling) hurtling over a colorful spacescape while being dragged by a ship. Project Hail Maryis scheduled for August 11, 2025, so the poster and trailer are coming just under a year ahead of its release. In the case of the poster, it isn’t very surprising, since studios will generally put out basic one-sheets months before release.

Recent years have seen studios hold their first pieces of footage until a bit closer to release; for example,the first trailer forJurassic World Rebirth, which releases on July 2, dropped in February, only five months early.
