Battleworld Is Introducing an Army of Creative New Hero Variants
The New Red and Blue Venom Will Ally with New Versions of Spider-Man, Captain Marvel and More
In 1984’sSecret Wars, the Beyonder kidnapped Marvel’s greatest heroes and villains, pitting them against each other on Battleworld. The planet is a patchwork made up of chunks taken from different realities, leading to Spider-Man accidentally freeing the symbiote villain Venom, thinking he was actuallycreating a new black costume. Venom later showed its true colors as a symbiote monster, but has since been redeemed, now operating as a hero, albeit while using some extreme tactics.
The new Venom has been created by Jordan Morris and Luciano Vecchio, and will be dragged into battle alongside Hulk’s Maestro persona, a new version of the Wasp, and the elderly King Thor. The original ’80s Star Brand Kenneth Connell will also return. The heroes will be forced totake on cosmic villain Korvac, who seems to be the creator of Battleworld this time around.
Marvel is making history by givingVenoma brand-new color scheme that reverses his original relationship with Spider-Man, asBattleworldintroduces several dramatic new takes on iconic Marvel heroes.
Battleworld #3is coming July 12, 2025, followed byVenom #252on December 3.
