A variety of frustrating technical issues have been cropping up forDestiny 2players since the launch of the latest expansion, but the game’s most recent update has caused some players to receive unwarranted Crucible bans upon successfully completing matches. WithDestiny 2suffering widespread server issues in more recent weeks, it seems that the game’s latest patch has delivered yet another batch of bugs alongside the fixes.

Therelease ofDestiny 2: Lightfallmarked another new year for the game, but its launch didn’t go as smoothly as hoped. The expansion made a number of bold changes to the game across the board, with a generally increased difficulty across most activities garnering some explosive backlash from the community. Though the expansion’s campaign missed the mark on multiple levels in terms of narrative, the DLC did deliver a wealth of new content in the form of Strand, a new destination on Neptune, and more. The aggressive tweaks to difficulty were made harsher for many fans due to several bugs which were causing some enemies to oneshot Guardians in PvE activities, and underpowered primary weapons only became more of a problem for players using certain exotic weapons which were inadvertently dealing less damage than intended.

Thankfully, many of these issues have already been fixed through the handful of hotfixes that have been rolled out since the beginning of March. But as is often the case, fans have constantly encountered several new issues as the Season of Defiance has progressed, and some fans have even experienced seemingly randombans fromDestiny 2’s PvP activitysince the recent launch of the mid-season patch. This was brought to the community’s attention via a post on Reddit from the user Oath-Sworn, which included a clip of the player receiving a temporary 30-minute ban upon successfully completing a Crucible match and returning to Orbit.

Puzzlingly, the ban message states that the player was temporarily suspended due to them leaving the competitive match early, despite them disconnecting normally following a finished match. The player went on to try again after the short time-out was lifted, only to receive another, longer ban despite also playing the second match to completion. Other players have reported experiencing the same problem, and have warned other fans toavoidDestiny 2’s PvP playlistfor now. Players should be aware that repeated bans will likely result in significantly longer suspension times.

Some in the community have already begun to compile and list additional bugs that players have been encountering since the latest update. Issues aside though, theDestiny 2’smuch-anticipated mid-season patchhas brought many requested changes, including reworks to several weapon types that should make primary weapons feel much more effective and satisfying to use in higher-end activities.

Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
