Spider-Man, Insomniac’s superhero exclusive to the PlayStation 4, has now been available for over three months. But that doesn’t mean that the story ofSpider-Man, Mayor Osborn, and a city gone sinister is wrapped up just yet. Today, Sony revealed that Insomniac’s final chapter of The City That Never Sleeps DLC is almost ready for launch. Players will be able to download Silver Lining starting December 21, as confirmed in an all-newSpider-ManDLC teaser trailer.
In this chapter, players will go head to head with Silver Sable herself. Sable’s team was never onSpider-Man’s side in the base game, which is putting it lightly, but now that she’s had her weapons swiped by Hammerhead, Sable International is no longer holding back.
In terms of content, players can expect new missions, new or more challenging enemies and crimes, upgraded Hammerhead bases, and fresh storyline quests. There will also be several new trophies to earn, challenges to complete, and a set ofthree new suitsto unlock along the way.
The first two newSpider-Mansuits that will be included as part of the Silver Lining DLC are the Cyborg Spider-Man of Earth-2818 and the Aaron-Aikman Spider-Armor of Earth-31411, both of which are from popularSpider-Manstories of the past. The third, however, is a much more recent addition to theSpider-Manlore. The third suit is Peter Parker’s suit from the filmSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which is set to release in theaters on December 14.
With the release of Silver Lining on December 21,The City That Never Sleeps DLCseason will be complete. While Insomniac notably doesn’t mention if this is the end of planned DLC for the game, it’s definitely the end of announced DLC. It’s more likely that Insomniac is already transitioning to working on aSpider-Mansequel, though.
Spider-Manplayers can purchase the standalone Silver Lining DLC starting December 21 for $9.99 or can pick up the entire The City That Never Sleeps DLC pack for $24.99. Both prior chapters, The Heist andTurf Wars, are available now.
