SteamWorld Buildis another title in the SteamWorld series that depicts the adventures of steam-driven robots as they build a city from scratch on an alien planet. As the game progresses, players can venture into the old mines beneath the town to collect ores and other resources that can be used to further expand the town.

The underground mines are divided into three distinct regions, namely the Dusty Caverns, the Marshy Ruins, and the Crackling Depths. As players go deeper into the Marshy Ruins, they will come across living masses of purple and green vines. These vines are called ‘The Creep’ and will keep spreading unless players get rid of them.

How to Get Rid of The Creep in SteamWorld Build

The Creep is capable of slowly growing onto tiles adjacent to it. If left unchecked, it will keep spreading and preventplayers from building anythingon those tiles. Besides this, Steambots will also move slowly when trying to cross over it. While not entirely dangerous on its own, The Creep can worsen situations by allowing enemies to catch up with and attack any Steambots that are stuck.

To effectively get rid of The Creep, players need Guard robotsequipped with a special weapon called ‘The Flamethrower.’ The Flamethrower is a powerful tool that can burn away The Creep instantly. Players can get their hands on the Flamethrower in two ways:

Once they possess the Flamethrower, players can follow the steps below to equip it.

Players can equip more than one flamethrower to remove The Creep faster. Doing so means they have more Guard bots who can deal with The Creep.

With the Flamethrower in hand, the Guard bots will immediately start moving toward the areas with exposed Creep and burn it. This is the most effective way for players to get rid of the Creep inSteamWorld Build. Guard bots can also use the Flamethrower to defeat other enemies in the mines.
