Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour was iconic, but there’s one song on the set list that she performed much better over a decade earlier.Swift’s Eras Tour may have been her biggest tourof all time, butshe’s been putting effort into her live showsher entire career.

Long before Taylor Swift was the superstar she is today, she entertained her fans with major productions. While one of her earlier career songs was includedon the Eras Tour set, she did a much better job with it back in 2011.

The first tour Taylor Swift performed “Enchanted” on was theSpeak NowWorld Tour in 2011. The tour was fairytale-inspired, especially Swift’s “Enchanted” set, which saw her in a gold, sparkly gown surrounded by fairy-light-decorated trees.

Theset transformed the stage into an enchanted forest, with Swift making her way through it to meet her prince, played by one of her dancers.

Headshot Of Taylor Swift

The performance began with her dancer, Claire Calloway, doing a ballet routine. The performance also had an acousticintro played by her keyboardist, David Cook, and fiddler, Caitlin Evanson. When Swift graced the stage, unlikeat the Eras Tour, she sang the completeSpeak Nowtrack.

For the entirety of the three-and-a-half-hour tour,Swift cut out the second verse of the songand instead went right to the bridge. Unfortunately, she made another change, leaving out her high note that comes before the final chorus.

On theSpeak NowTour, Swift extended the post-bridge verse, where she pleads for the man she likes not to be in love with someone else. This allowed her tofully sing the fan-favorite verse while also hitting the iconic noteeffortlessly.

The most unfortunate part of the Eras Tour change: “Enchanted” wasthe only song Swift included from theSpeak Nowera, making thatsection of the show feel even shorter than it already was. Also, with Swift’s improved vocals, which were heard on “Enchanted (Taylor’s Version)”, the Eras Tour high note would have been even more impressive.

Why Swift Changed Enchanted For Eras

Although it was unfortunate that Swift couldn’t sing all of “Enchanted"at the Eras Touror hit the high note, it is understandable. Swifthad to perform for over three hours, and in order to get fan favorite songs into the more popular eras like1989andfolklore, the pop star had to make theSpeak Nowera extra short.

As for her high note,Swift takes very good care of her vocalsto make sure she’s not damaging her voice. If she were to hit the “Enchanted” note every night, it might have taken a toll on her singing.

Not only would that have made it impossible to get through the long set every night, but it could have been detrimental to her career in the future. Luckily, theSpeak Nowperformance is still available to watch.
