One of the biggest guest stars in FX’sThe Bearseason 4 has revealed whether they will return in future episodes after solving a series-long mystery in the latest installment.
The Bearseason 4 featured several returning guest stars, such as Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Josh Hartnett, John Mulaney, andGillian Jacobs, who is the real-life wife of series creator Christopher Storer. It also introduced new characters, such asDanielle Deadwyler’s Chanteland Brie Larson’s Francie Fak.
In an interview withVanity Fair, Larson, who plays Captain Marvel in the MCU, finallyspoke out about her “top secret” cameo inThe Bearseason 4. Her character,Francie, has had a longstanding beef with Abby Elliott’s Natalie “Sugar” Berzattofor unknown reasons.
It’s revealed, however, thatthe two may have had a fling in the past, to the dismay of Sugar’s husband Pete. Larson touched on Francie’s character and the possibility of her return inThe Bearseason 5, which has already been picked up by FX and Hulu.
Do you foresee Francie coming back next season?
I had the absolute best time, would fly across the country and work with them for one hour if that’s what it took. I don’t know if anybody knows what the future holds, but I think it’s a really nice place that their relationship ends. Maybe men deal with this too, but I know as a woman, it’s such a relatable thing. When I finally saw the episode, I teared up a bit. I know what it’s like to have close girl friendships that go south, then you find a way to make peace. It’s just such a beautiful thing to grow in your life and to be able to accept an apology, or be the one to say an apology and put things in the past. But if there’s another season, I really want to be there.
What This Means For Brie Larson’s Return In The Bear Season 5
She Has A Great Chance To Return Based On Other Guest Stars' Track Records
Once a new guest star is introduced inThe Bear, they tend to find their way back into the fold in the following season. Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays Carmy’s mom Donna, and Will Poulter’s Luca were both introduced inThe Bearseason 2 and have since become much more involved in the series.
Francie and Sugar seem to settle their differences by the end ofThe Bearseason 4, episode 7, hinting that she could turn up at the next family get-together inThe Bearseason 5.
The same can be said for Carmy’s extended family, which includes characters played by Bob Odenkirk, John Mulaney, Gillian Jacobs, Sarah Paulson, and even Jon Bernthal, who plays Carmy’s older brother Mikey, who passed away. That said, some past guest stars, such asOlivia Colman, Joel McHale, and John Cena, did not return for season 4.

Our Take On How Francie Fak Can Become Part Of The Bear Family
Her Best Shot Of Returning Is Becoming Close Friends With Sugar Again
Larson’s willingness to return toThe Bear season 5 is fantastic because her character reveals another side of Sugar, who is often sweet and thoughtful in a maternal way. Larson’s return could alsodig deeper into what actually happened between Sugar and Franciebecause the exact specifics were never dished out in season 4.
Given thatThe Bearseason 5 may be the last installment, it seems likely that Storer will want to end the series on a high note. This would presumably includebringing back as many original guest stars as possiblewhile also expanding on the long list of cameos.
SinceCarmy retired from The Bear in the season 4 finale, he may ultimately spend more time with his family outside the restaurant setting. This could naturally open up more family events that would bring Francie back into the fold.
Francie’s best shot of returning toThe Bear, however, isthrough her healed relationship with Sugar. Francie may become the friend that Sugar needs as she experiences her first year of motherhood, although her husband, Pete, may be unnerved by Sugar and Francie’s apparent relationship history.
