The Elder Scrolls Onlinehas just released its latest chapter,High Isle, which takes players to the Systres Archipelago, the home of the Bretons. Along with the release of the chapter and all its content is a free update, Update 34, to the base game available to everyElder Scrolls Onlineplayer.
The Elder Scrolls Onlinewas released in 2014 following the enormous success ofThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. As an MMORPG, the game has received numerous major updates and expansions over the years which have improved the game in many areas and allowed players to adventure across the franchise’s largest open world to date. The game features a mixture of familiarElder Scrollsfeatures such as sneakingand stealing, joining the Mage’s Guild and Thieve’s Guild, and a freeform character build system that gives players the freedom to enjoy a wide range of playstyles. Each expansion usually introduces new story developments and more regions for players to explore.

WhileThe Elder Scrolls Online: High Islebrings a whole new story chapter and region into the game, the free Update 34 has also brought some important new features that all players can enjoy. One of the most important new features is the addition ofAMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution(FSR) 1.0 technology. This upscaling technology results in massive performance boosts for games that support it. Looking best when combined with Temporal Anti-Aliasing, AMD FSR can help players with older GPUs achieve higher framerates and gives players the ability to increase their graphics quality to higher settings without losing out on performance.
Mundus Stones are now part of the armory system, which allowsMundus Stone boonsto be swapped easily between builds. New quickselect wheel functionality has been added, which allows for multiple quickselect wheels for mementos, emotes, and tools that augment the primary quickselect wheel for combat items and consumables. Gamepad players can also access their emote wheel through their quickselect wheel, providing easy access to their favorite gestures and actions.
The title screen’s music can now be changed to that of any chapter in the Audio Settings tab. A new Accessibility Mode has been added, which automatically swaps to keybinds corresponding to the current input method, such as keyboard or gamepad. Pre-game UI screens can now also be navigated with the D-pad or keyboard, rather than just the mouse.
Zenimax has stated that more accessibility options and settings will be included in future updates, which should make the game more readily playable for gamers that prefer various input methods. Localized Spanish text for the game has also been added, which is a good sign for the game’s Spanish community and hopefully a sign of more support for other languages in the future. With better performance and playability coming withtheHigh Isleupdate, playingThe Elder Scrolls Onlineshould be smoother than ever.
