The month of June has been a busy one, with some discountstimed around Summer Game Festand services like PS Plus and Game Pass releasing their mid-month offerings. That’s on top of places like Epic Games Store and Prime Gaming wheeling out routine freebies. Despite it being such a crowded month for games,I’m begging anyone who hasn’t tried it yet to check out a little indie gem calledTOEM.
Toem Is Free WIth Prime Gaming Right Now
A Standout Among Prime’s Free Offerings For June 2025
TOEMis one ofsix free games with Prime Gamingduring the month of June 2025. If you haven’t tried it out yet, it’s definitely worth your time. Despite Prime Gaming having some notable franchises likeTomb RaiderandStar Warsin its June offerings,I’m convincedTOEMis the best of the bunch. I first played it back in 2023 (during one of those summer catch-ups I mentioned before) and fell in love with it instantly.
Part scavenger hunt, part photography expedition, the gameplay loop is a ton of fun. And don’t be fooled by its black-and-white animation either -TOEMis as vibrant as any full-color game out there. On top of the gameplay, the music and laid-back tone all work together to make the perfect cozy summer game.
And now that it’s free with Prime Gaming, there’s really no excuse not to check it out if you have a Prime membership already. At the time of this writing, it’s on Game Pass but isn’t available with PS Plus (although it was a free monthly game back in 2022). That means Prime Gaming is a great way to get it at no additional cost.
Toem Is A Great Indie Game From 2021 That’s Well-Worth Checking Out
It Won A BAFTA, Among Other Awards
You also don’t have to just take my word for it thatTOEMis a great game. It was an official selection from Day of the Devs and London Gaming Festival in 2021, andeven won a BAFTA for Debut Game in 2022, among other awards and accolades. After winning the BAFTA, the devs added new content toTOEM: the Basto expansion. It was added completely for free, so if you played the game at launch and missed out on the free update, it’s worth replaying for the Basto region alone.
I’ve found Prime Gaming’s offerings to be hit or miss personally, but I’m excited to seeTOEMin the line-up for June 2025. It’s a big win for the service - and for people who have a membership. WithTOEM 2on the horizon, it’s all the more reason to check out the first game right now.TOEMis one of my favorite games of the last 10 years, and you should definitely check it out.
