Summary

A clever player has recreated Captain Price from the ever-popularCall of Dutyfranchise inRed Dead Redemption 2using mods. While Rockstar Gamesended major support forRed Dead Onlinein the Summer of last year,Red Dead Redemption 2is still playable and is even home to a small but dedicated modding community.

Arguably one of the most iconicCall of Dutycharacters next to Ghost orBlack Ops' Frank Woods, Captain John Price was first introduced in 2007 withCall of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, a game that influenced the future of the first-person shooter genre and launchedCall of Dutyinto the mainstream. Of course, the leader of Bravo Team also played a major part in theModern Warfarereboot series, even being featured on the cover of 2019’s entry. Price also takes the cover once again this year forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3just one year afterModern Warfare 2.

A player has chosen to bring Captain Price into the wild west world ofRed Dead Redemption 2. On Reddit, TheKey32 posted three images of their incredibly accurate Captain Price recreation made with the help of mods. Complete with a cowboy hat, which is supposed to replicate Price’s iconic boonie hat, and bushy mutton chop beard, Price looks like he fits right into the world ofRed Dead Redemption.

The third photo of Captain Price even goes as far as to somewhat mimic his pose on 2019’sModern Warfarecover art with an M16 assault rifle. As modern weapons aren’t available inRed Dead Redemption 2, TheKey32 clarified under the post that the rifle was added as a mod and is fully automatic. TheKey32 also added that their Price character mod is available for players to download, with Price being playable and also available to spawn as an NPC. Price is even equipped withRed Dead Redemption 2’s iconic Dead Eye abilitywhich slows down time and allows the player to mark targets.

WithCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3right around the corner on November 10, fans will get to see what’s next for Captain Price and crew in the rebootedModern Warfarestoryline. As forRed Dead Redemption 2, it’s good to see that, even as Rockstar’s support for the game has ceased, there’s still a creative community of modders bringing other iconic characters intoRed Dead’s world. Unfortunately, withGrand Theft Auto 6up next, Rockstar may not giveRed DeadOnlineanother real shake until potentiallyRed Dead Redemption 3.

Red Dead Redemption 2is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
