Marvel’s “First Family,”The Fantastic Four, has officially entered the MCU in this summer’sFantastic Four: First Steps, . And already, the team’s genius leaderReed Richardshas a new cosplay design that acts asthe perfect look for Mr. Fantastic’s next MCU appearance.

A more realistic take on Mr. Fantastic shared by Caleb (@calebweekss) on Instagram, this creative talent already has several Marvel designs under his belt. Acomic-accurate look for Punisher, Daredevil, Cyclops, and Spider-Man are just a few of the Hollywood-level costumes he’s known for, but Reed Richards has taken the spotlight.

Reed Richards in Fantastic Four First Steps

Givena retro look inFantastic Four: First Stepsthat harkens back to the team’s original comic book adventures, Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards wears a costume that fits Earth-828’s unique aesthetics nicely. But with Caleb’s willingness to go one step further with his design, it’s clear whyCaleb’s Mr. Fantastic cosplay stands out from all the others.

Mr. Fantastic Cosplay Is the More ‘Heroic’ Design The MCU Needs

Cosplay Design by Caleb (@calebweekss)

Photographed by Aarica Brittany (@aaricabrittanyphotography), this Reed Richards cosplay leans into the more practical superhero designs the MCU is known for. With Caleb’s lightly armored suit looking aesthetically similar to the costumes worn by Earth-616’s Captain America, Hawkeye, and Black Widow.

Looking like he could reach out and stretch at a moment’s notice, Caleb’s cosplay feels like the next evolution of Pedro Pascal’s costume. Doing away with Pascal’s blue and white color scheme, Caleb instead goes a bit darker, grounding this costume in a way thatFirst Steps’ Reed Richards should eventually adopt.

Sharing a similar design to the one worn byDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’Reed Richards variant, Caleb’s suit has noticeably more texture than its movie counterpart. Add in greying temples and slim but fit frame, and the result comes across as a far more faithful portrayal of this iconicFantastic Fourcharacter.

Why Fantastic Four Could Need a Redesign in The MCU’s Future

Mr. Fantastic’s Current MCU Costume is Earth-828 Specific

Reed’sFantastic Four: First Stepscostumeworks well for the film’s retro ‘60s setting, but it might be a bit much for the more grounded and realistic nature of Earth-616. However, once Reed inevitably makes the jump to the MCU’s “main” Earth, he’ll likely get a new design that’s more in line with that world’s fashion sense.

Even if Reeddoesn’tswap universes in the MCU’s future, he would still continue to alter and fine-tune his suit on Earth-828. But since this Reed’s world is a far more hopeful and colorful place compared to the MCU’s more grounded Earth-616, it’sunlikely Earth-828’s Reed would gravitate towards a costume as realistic as this cosplay.

Whether or notReed Richardsreceives a fresh set of spandex in his next MCU appearance (Mr. Fantastic is set to return in 2026’sAvengers: Doomsday), Caleb (@calebweekss) has proven that this realisticFantastic Fourdesigncanwork for the character, making the wait for his MCU return that much harder.
