Titus Welliver’s upcoming crime series will give one of the stars of Netflix’s Emmy-winning showOzarka strong replacement. Welliver, best known for his signature role asHarry Bosch inBoschandBosch: Legacy, is set to star in the upcoming MGM+ period crime drama showThe Westies.
Welliver, however, was not featured inOzarkalongside stars Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, and breakout actress Julia Garner. TheOzarkstar, who will be teaming up with Welliver, playedSpecial Agent Maya Miller in the celebrated Netflix series, who had an integral role in exposing Marty and Wendy Byrde.

She’ll Be Teaming Up With Bosch Alum Titus Welliver
Actress Jessica Frances Dukes, who played Special Agent Maya Miller inOzark, will now be playingFBI Agent Birdie Polk inThe Westies, another dark crime show. She and Welliver will star in the MGM+ series alongside Tom Brittney (Greyhound,Back in Action) and Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons (Whiplash,Juno).
WhileOzarkwas set in the present day,The Westieswill take place in the 1980s, set in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of New York City. The “Westies” refer to a crime gang that competed with the powerful Italian mafia during that time period. The series will follow the FBI’s crackdown on criminal and gang-related activity.
The Westieswas created by Chris Brancato (Godfather of Harlem,Narcos) and Michael Panes (Godfather of Harlem,Hotel Cocaine). The story will follow two men who grew up together in Hell’s Kitchen but took very different paths in life, with one becoming an FBI agent (likely Welliver’s character) and the other getting involved in The Westies gang.

It will be great to see Welliver in another leading role and engrossed in another captivating crime story doing what he does best.
