About a month ago, the developer Night Dive Studios’ remaster of the first-person shooterTurokreceiveda PEGI rating for the Xbox One, indicating its impending release on the system. Now, it looks like the first entry in the first-person shooter series and its sequel,Seeds of Evil, are both set to make their way onto Microsoft’s current generation console’s backward compatibility program soon thanks to yet another listing from the aforementioned ratings board.
As seen below in the tweet from the prolific Twitter user Wario64,Turok: Dinosaur HunterandTurok 2: Seeds of Evilhave both been given PEGI 16 ratings for the Xbox One, meaning that the games both contain content suitable only for those who are 16 years of age or older. In the case of these titles, they both have “realistic looking violence” which includes blood, gore, and carnage – all of whichSeeds of Evilhas in steady supply.
Night Dive Studios, the developer of the forthcomingTurokremasters, hasn’t said anything in regards toDinosaur HunterandSeeds of Evil’s respective release dates for Xbox One, but these PEGI ratings are a good indication that the company has completed development on them. So, at this point,Turokfans will have to wait until the company decides to officially announce launch times for the titles on the current-gen platform.
Despite the lack of a locked-in release date for bothTurok: Dinosaur HunterandTurok 2: Seeds of Evil, there’s no doubt that first-person shooter fans' trigger fingers are itching at the chance to take on the games yet again, or for the first time on Xbox One. After all, many consider the second entry in the franchise to havehelped 1998 become the best year in video gaming, so here’s to hoping the titles still prove to be enjoyable in this day and age.
