Nintendo has been pumping out Directs recently, announcing third-party titles and new indie games for the original Switch and, of course, theNintendo Switch 2. It has been a somewhat exciting period for most, especially as a handful of these reveals have been truly special and unexpected. Whether it is a huge third-party release or a shadow-dropped indie that’ll almost certainly take the world by storm, these announcements have been worth watching.
Of course, while the majority of these reveals have beendisappointing for Switch 2 users, as so few are exclusively coming to Nintendo’s shiny new hardware, there have been a handful of reveals that are nevertheless exciting. One, in particular, is aPC exclusive and Steam Deck favorite that has finally, out of nowhere, dropped onto the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. This shadow drop is absolutely one to check out, as it is easily one of the best games of 2024.

However, that has all changed, as it launched onto the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 today.
UFO 50has easily been thebiggest Nintendo Direct revealfor me in recent memory, as it is a game I’ve played numerous times on PC and Steam Deck, but would much prefer it on my slimmer and more compact Nintendo Switch 2. I suspect many are in the same boat and more than willing to throw another $24.99 at it, as it really is that good. Of course,if you’ve never played it before, you’re absolutely in luck, asUFO 50is a genuine delight.
