The trailer for the next season ofApex Legendshas been leaked ahead of schedule, and it shows off the first new character to arrive in the game in over a year. The battle royale title, developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by EA, is set in theTitanfalluniverse and lets players take the role of heroes called Legends. The leaked trailer plays out like a classic superhero cartoon, featuring gorgeous animation and telling the story of the upcoming character. Over the course of less than two minutes,the leaked trailer shows the personality, backstory, and fighting styleofApex Legends’newest hero.
There’s been some confusion in the Apex community regarding the upcoming character’s name. It seems likely that Belva is the real name of the new hero, Sparrow is their Legend name, and Artemis is the name of their black cat companion.
Sparrow, real name Belva, is a fighter clad in red whouses a bow and arrow to unleash devastating attacks.According to another prolific leaker,HYPERMYST, Sparrow’s arrows have a chance to eitherzap or scan enemies, depending on whether the attack hits or misses its mark. The character is also shown using arrows in various other situations, like attaching a bomb to the tip of one for an explosive attack, but there’s no telling yet whether this is the trailer taking artistic license or an actual attack that Sparrow will have in the game.

A Legend For Every Type Of Player
The arrival ofSparrow will mark the 27th playable characterinApex Legends, giving players plenty of variety to play around with. The ability to scan enemies seems to confirm that the new hero will be a Recon-class, making them a great addition to squads and adding to the woefully under-represented class, which currently only has four other characters to choose from.
Thanks to the leaked trailer,Apex Legendsfans know a bit more about what to look forward to when Sparrow, aka Belva, flies into the game. No release date has been confirmed yet, but the predicted release of the next update is May 6.
