Publisher NIS America has announced that several releases in its wild murder-mystery seriesDanganronpaare to be removed from the PlayStation Storein the coming months.
The first title to hit the chopping block will beDanganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls, which will no longer be purchasable on PS Vita. This will be followed additional PS Vita titlesDanganronpa: Trigger Happy HavocandDanganronpa 2: Goodbye Despairon September 4.Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmonyfor will vanish on PS VitaandPS4 on September 25.
NIS America thanked fans for their purchases but has offered no explanation for the removal. It seems an odd time for the games to disappear, as 2020 has beenDanganronpa’smost prominent yearfor news and announcements in a decade. It is fully expected(though not confirmed) that Spike Chunsoft will soon republish the removed titles, hopefully at somewhat less startling prices. It should also be noted that, for now,Danganronpa 1-2 Reloadfor PS4 will remain purchasable on the PlayStation Store.
This weekend will see Spike Chunsoft release the latest episode of its behind-the-scenes showDangan TV, so maybe we’ll hear some more news regarding the cult series soon.
