One of the most popular content creators onYouTube, Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter has re-upped her contract with the company for a few more years. The new contract withYouTubemeans that the video game streamer is going to be with the company for at least four years and will stick around through 2024.

Having gotten her start on Twitch, Valkyrae was among some of that platform’s most popular creators whoeventually left Twitchto move to YouTube in 2020. Since Hofstetter landed on the site it appears she’s been mostly happy with her decision as she signed a brand-new contract with the company just as January was set to wrap up.

The new deal definitely answers questions from some in the community as to whether the streamer would be staying with YouTube for the foreseeable future. Back in December,Valkyrae went out of her wayto make it clear exactly how much time was left on her contract and some took that to mean she was counting down the hours until she was free to move on. However, the streamer confirmed on January 31 that she would be sticking around until January 2024.

According toDexerto, It appears that Hofstetter’s new contract is similar to her first with the Google-owned streaming giant, which means she’ll have to stream a certain number of hours per year and that those hours will have to officially qualify for YouTube’s gaming category. Speaking on her new deal she expressed optimism for the future. “The streaming side has a lot of room to grow,” she said. “They’re working on it. I’m happy here. Seeing how hungry they are is exciting.”

Valkyrae is also among thestreamers like Amouranthwhose popularity onYouTubehas allowed her to branch out beyond simply gaming and streaming. While her journey into lending her support to a specific skincare line birthed some unexpected peril, she’s still branching out in other directions. Between getting her own branded gaming chair and appearing in music videos, it’s clear that the streamer is turning into a full-fledged celebrity and is getting recognized by people who might not have any interest in what her favorite console is or what her favorite games are.
