Assassin’s Creed Mirageis set in 9th century Iraq, the latest in the world-traveledAssassin’s Creedseries, which has seen players visit France, England, Egypt, the United States, and Italy.Mirage‘s main hub is based around the country’s capital, Baghdad, and is set 20 years beforeAssassin’s Creed: Valhalla, which featured Basim as an older NPC.

“Basim is going to be coming from a street thief to a master assassin,” said narrative director Sarah Beaulieu during theAssassin’s Creed2022 Showcase video. The narrative director also called Baghdad “beautiful,” “vibrant,” and “magnificent.”
