Consequently,Will and Marion’s relationship never received true closure,which they deserve after the ABC police procedural series spent a lot of time in season 3’s first half developing their romance. Marion leaving multiple episodes before theWill Trentseason 3 finale is a missed opportunity. Will and Marion are good together; their timing just wasn’t right, and they need to have a proper conversation about that before anyone (including the audience) can move on.

The good news is that Heldens left the door open for her return. The co-showrunner toldTVLine, “I think that Gina Rodriguez is wonderful … I wouldn’t rule out her coming back in season 4 at all.”
